Tuohy is a Brigadier General in the United States Air Force and the current Assistant Adjutant General and Commander of the Washington Air National Guard, in which capacity he commands 34 assigned units - including those that form the 194th Regional Support Wing, the 141st Air Refueling Wing, and the Western Air Defense Sector (WADS) - and the 2,100 personnel attached to those units. General Tuohy is responsible to The Adjutant General of Washington, Major General Bret D. In 1974, he graduated from St. Petersburg High School. In 1978, he graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management.
